7/13/12 – In 1994 the Alliance Defence Fund (ADF) was set up by 35 national ministry leaders, including Dr. James Dobson (Focus on the Family), Bill Bright (Campus Crusade for Christ), Larry Burkett (Crown Financial Ministries), D. James Kennedy (Coral Ridge Ministries), and Donald Weldmon (American Family Association).

Its mission is to fight the left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Planned Parenthood. It also began taking steps to combat the erroneous idea in the public schools that “Separation of Church and State” is a doctrine in our Constitution. It does these things by training lawyers around the country to file lawsuits in these matters.

The ADF has been extremely successful – winning over 80% of its cases on our behalf. Now? after prayerful deliberation, research, and interviews, it is changing its name from the Alliance Defense Fund to the Alliance Defending Freedom.

I certainly wish this organization continued success in defending and even advocating the right of people to freely live out their religious beliefs, while strengthening their faith in God.  It is one that Carol and I contribute to and support regularly, and I urge others to do the same.
